After a highly anticipated wait I was finally announced by my new team for 2025. I am very excited to kick things off with Maxge-Ambilamp-team cycling Galicia. Now being able to race an Elite/U23 race calendar in Spain allows me to have an even better chance of progressing as a rider. So I'd like to thank the team for giving me this opportunity.

Although these races will be extremely difficult I'm ready to test myself. Hopefully my previous experience racing in Spain will help me out! Speaking to friends who have been in a similar position to me have reassured that the races are the hardest of them all, so that is definitely reassuring! All jokes aside it is great to talk to people who have been in a similar situation as its hard to prepare for the unknown and easy to make mistakes in preparation that could have been avoided.

As part of my preparation I was lucky enough to spend two weeks in Calpe at the start of the month. Focusing on my endurance and enjoying time on the bike in nicer weather. It is always beneficial to get away from the cold and wet during the winter period but it feels even more worthwhile to me being able to simulate the racing terrain, and recap the thought process of racing in Spain by being in that environment again. For those two weeks I was training around the Costa Blanca region where I have spent quite a bit of time over the past few years.

This year I will be based in the Galician region in the north west so there will be some differences. I have spent a bit of time in the north, and the climate being completely different to south is the biggest factor. Although its generally warmer than home it can experience similar storms to the UK. Needless to say I should be climatized to that by now! Being based in a different region will mainly affect my training whilst I'm there. It still means travelling around the country to different races, so I expect to return to some familiar places.

In the near future I should be heading out there to meet the team and have a mini camp. Can't wait to meet the people I will be racing with and to see the type of structure the team already has!

Lastly I would like to say a thanks to Pedal Potential who will be supporting me this year. Opportunities like this wouldn't be possible without the help and support of everyone around me so I am grateful to have them onboard.
