My difficult season continues to test me, its been pretty rubbish so far!

I got taken down in a crash in my last race the Cadence national junior road race in mid Wales In May at over 40 mph, I got back on but straight away I knew I was in big trouble, severe pain in my left elbow and knee forced me to stop immediately, i was feeling really good too beforehand, typical.

A trip to a&e, several x-rays and 15 hours later I got home, initially I thought my elbow was broken as it was a funny shape but mostly down to swelling, my knee on the other hand was a different story, it was huge from the swelling and I couldn't walk on it.

I eventually had to go for an MRI scan to find out what the damage was, i was told I had to put no weight on it for at least a month, gutted!

I had to wait a few weeks for the results from the specialist, thankfully no damage to any of the ligaments or tendons but severe deep bruising of the bones, so after almost 6 weeks off the bike I was given the green light to start riding again.

It hasn't been nice over the last few weeks but I'm getting better every day.

I've now headed back out to Spain to try and regain fitness and salvage something from the end of the season.

The team have penciled me in for some races starting tonight with an 80km town center crit race, not my favorite by far but I have to start somewhere, I'm not getting my hopes up it will be very hard, but I'll just take it as it comes.
